Christian Dior haute couture spring/summer 2011

John Galliano never fails to astonish me with his creations for the house of Dior…and this season is no different…AH-MEY-ZZZING!!!!

The smears, strokes, brush marks and gouache washes of the legendary illustrator Rene Gruau became Galliano’s inspirations for this collection, and they were visible as embroideries, embellishments and adornments on the luxurious fabrics that were sculpted into stunning pieces.

The depth of the degradé on this collection was achieved through layers and layers of tulle, mimicking the drawing technique of Gruau. I die….

Headpieces were done by none-other than Stephen Jones…..extra-ordinary!!!! Perfect accompaniment to Galliano’s dramatic pieces….

But the best look among the collection, as always, John Galliano taking the center stage…..
