Iris Van Herpen haute couture s/s 2011

Inspiration came from the digital technology…Iris Van Herpen showed a high-tech collection that looks like something out of a sci-fi movie…worn with Stephen Jones’ head pieces made from scraps of computer parts and speakers.

…though the looks are intimidating, the techniques used to create each piece is astonishing…

..pleats , folds, mille-feuille, everything was made like a sculpture; with exaggerated silhouette and meticulous construction….

…in making the pieces, technology was also applied through the process of executing the designs, most pieces were made by machine through a unique digitalized process…top it-off with hours and hours of laborious hand work….

…spectacular, futuristic pieces…these clothes are for the daring and not for the faint-hearted!!!!!…gotta love Dutch people!!!!
